The Six Quarters Scholar was created by Rhode 2 Wellness to support a driven, resilient student pursuing a career in medicine. This scholarship recognizes grit, discipline, and a commitment to service—the kind of student who does what it takes to succeed.
This award is designed to invest in the next generation of healthcare leaders who understand that excellence often requires going beyond expectations.
Honoring the Legacy
This scholarship honors the powerful legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and recognizes them as a training ground for future physicians and healthcare leaders rooted in service, resilience, and excellence.
As a proud alumna, Bethune-Cookman University is where Dr. Rhode Qawiy received her foundation and began her journey toward becoming a healthcare provider. The education, mentorship, and community she experienced there helped shape who she is today.
Through the Six Quarters Scholar, Dr. Qawiy can give back to the institution that invested in her and support diverse students who are committed to healthcare, service, and going beyond what is expected to reach their goals.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria:
- ✓Accepted to or currently enrolled at an HBCU
- ✓Declared Pre-Med major
- ✓Incoming freshman, sophomore, or junior
- ✓Minimum GPA: 2.75 (flexible—character matters)
How to Apply
Applicants must submit the following:
1. Personal Essay (500–750 words)
Prompt: “Tell us about a time you had to give more than what was expected of you to reach your goals. How did that experience shape who you are today and your desire to pursue a career in healthcare?”
2. Proof of Enrollment or Acceptance
Official or unofficial documentation showing current or incoming enrollment at an HBCU.
3. Unofficial Transcript
Current transcript showing your academic record and GPA.
4. One Letter of Recommendation
From a teacher, professor, advisor, coach, employer, or mentor who can speak to your character and commitment.
5. Video Submission
Upload a 1–2 minute video introducing yourself and sharing why healthcare is important to you.
